Book Review: Courts of Heaven

THE latest addition to pastor Nellie’s Spiritual Warfare Series Vol. 13 offers readers deep insights into the concept of spiritual warfare from a judicial perspective in the “courts of  heaven.”

Courts of Heaven: Favour Before the Righteous Judge explores how believers can seek divine intervention in their lives through a heavenly courtroom.

The author presents the idea that prayer can be approached as a legal case, where Christians can go before God, the Righteous Judge, to argue on behalf of their destinies, families, finances, health, and spiritual growth.

So when does a believer need to go to the court room?

“If we have confessed all known sin and yet we are still not getting any victory in a certain area, then there must be a reason why Satan is able to frustrate or oppress us,” Pastor Nellie writes.

A believer needs to realise that when there is something not working in their life no matter what they do, then they have a case in the courts of heaven.

3 reasons why God rejects prayer altars

The main themes in the book include:

1.Legal ground and the Courts of Heaven:  Pastor Nellie writes that many of the spiritual battles we face are rooted in legal grounds held by the enemy. She writes that Satan has a legal ground when we have unconfessed sin in the heavenly courtroom.

The book helps the reader  understand the structure of God’s courts, and how to “plead their cases” and remove legal accusations that still stand against them to Satan’s advantage.

2.Favor with God as the righteous judge: The book emphasizes that God is a just and fair judge who desires to bless His people. When one approaches Him correctly in prayer, they can receive His favor and blessings.

3.Practical Guide to pleading your case:  The book does not discuss abstractions but provides, in Chapter 11, a framework for readers to follow when engaging in courtroom prayer. This includes repentance, understanding the enemy’s accusations, and standing in one’s identity as a child of God.

Courts of Heaven or the judicial approach to prayer makes spiritual warfare feel practical and empowers Christians to feel they have control over unseen spiritual obstacles.

It also encourages a proactive stance in putting faith to action.

Courts of Heaven is rooted in biblical passages and cites Scriptures to back up the “heavenly courtroom” teaching which will resonate with readers looking for biblically based teaching on spiritual warfare.

Pastor Nellie’s book Courts of Heaven: Favor Before the Righteous Judge offers an  important perspective for those seeking spiritual breakthrough and who are open to exploring prayer as a legal transaction.

With a focus on practical guidance and scriptural depth, the book empowers believers to actively engage in spiritual warfare, equipping them with tools and knowledge to confront unseen challenges in their faith journey.

But, why write another book on the Courts of Heaven?

Pastor Nellie acknowledges that several books have been writing about the heavenly courtroom approach to prayer. She says she has researched on the subject from what has been written before and even listened to on-line teachings on the same.

“In my over 40 years of Bible reading, I didn’t understand why I was expected to go to the Courts of Heaven to answer for sins that Jesus Christ already paid for,” she writes.

Simple for believers

Pastor Nellie says her book is a result of a desire to make the teaching and the principles of the Courts of Heaven simple to believers.

“I wanted to make it simple enough for a new believer in Jesus Christ to understand and benefit from it,” she says. “I told the Holy Spirit that if there was truth from the word of God concerning the Courts of Heaven, then I was a willing student, if only He would be my teacher.”

But when He, the spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. John 16:13.

The book therefore is a summary of what the Holy Spirt taught Pastor Nellie over the years as she examined scripture concerning what other authors have written concerning the Courts of Heaven and her years of experience in the ministry of deliverance.

Other books by Pastor Nellie include: Breaking Financial Curses, Stand Your Ground among others.
