DID you know that money spent on evil altars or sowed in bad soil may create invisible barriers that block your financial freedom and success?
It is God’s will to give us wealth and to prosper to His children. Indeed, when God created silver and gold , He created it for His children, not Satan.
We see that each time He called someone, He made them wealthy. We see this in the examples of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob King David, , King Solomon, just to name a few and therefore we can conclude that God has no problem with prosperity!
God is portrayed as a generous father and has created silver and gold for His children to enjoy, to bring abundance in His people’s lives. Why then are so many of His children struggling with lack and poverty?
Could the blockage be because of sowing in bad soil or cursed altars? A seed sown in bad soil will not grow. Money spent on evil altars bring financial curses.
Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times. Mark 4:3-8.
Here are some common barriers to financial breakthroughs. Check them out and find out which one you fall prey to?
Idolatry can be deceptive. “ Then all the men who knew that their wives were burning incense to other gods, along with all the women who were present—a large assembly—and all the people living in Lower and Upper Egypt, said to Jeremiah, “We will not listen to the message you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord!
We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm.
But ever since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have had nothing and have been perishing by sword and famine.” Jeremiah 44: 15-18.
Worshipping of other Gods always creates a barrier that prevents us from getting the blessings of God. Our creator hates the worship of idols and releases a curse of poverty which manifests in financial difficulties, lack and struggling.
God’s blessings are conditional. Deuteronomy 28:29, “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.”
A lot of people who seek counselling about financial issues complain that anything they put their hands on crashes- not that they are lazy. It is interesting to note that the pattern may follow the members of the extended family as well.
The general story is that they work hard but lack and struggle is their daily portion. It is because four generations of an idolatrous person is affected by a financial invisible barrier.
This brings a terrible curse in the house of the thief according to Zacharia 5:3-4, “And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.”
The invisible financial barrier (curse)looks for the person who steals and stays with them till it destroys the house through poverty.
Many times we take things that do not belong to us and we take it very lightly. It may pay great dividends if we walked through our house and remove everything that does not belong to us and return it to their owners. “Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.” Psalm 62:10.
- Dishonest money
Any money that we get in a dishonest way makes us a thief and a candidate for the flying scroll. The Lord hates dishonesty. Temptation to take dishonest monies can bring a curse.
Proverbs 11:1, “The LORD detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.”
Proverbs 13:11, “Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.”
Deuteronomy 23:18, “You must not bring the earnings of a female prostitute or of a male prostitute into the house of the Lord your God to pay any vow, because the Lord your God detests them both.”
God is deeply concerned that we pay we pay those who work for us, their rightful due. There are employers who when the company is not doing well , will not pay their workers and justify their actions by saying they have no money. James 5:4, Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.”
Another vice that is responsible for creating invisible barriers to financial breakthroughs is not paying debts.
Romans 13:8 says Let no debt remain outstanding except the debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowmen has fulfilled the law.”
Borrowing requires that we honour our promise to pay back whatever amount was borrowed within the period agreed.
Psalm 37:21 The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously
6. Putting your trust in man
If you put your trust in relatives and hope in friends, you will live a miserable life and die in poverty. Jeremiah 17:5. This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD.”
- Not honuoring God
How do you treat the things of God and the thongs of the world. God must see that you honour Him in your heart. Dishonouring God will bring curses upon your blessings.
Malachi 2:2 If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.”
God sees that we do not honour him when we chose other things before Him.
- Dishonour of parent
How do you relate with your parents? Do you honour them ? In modern times children have time for everything else but their old parents. Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
9.Sowing in bad soil
A seed will not bring harvest if sown in the wrong soil. From the Parable of the Sower Mark 4:8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” We must plant in good soil. Money spent on witchdoctors or false prophets will only lead to bondage. If someone uses the money you give them to commit a sin there will be no harvest.
Again if you give money God has not told you to give there is no blessing. What you give grudgingly will also not bring a harvest and will tie up your money.
Donating to a project which is not of God will also cause invisible financial barriers. You must trust the leadership of the organization and , see in their lives reflect the glory of God. We only reap good fruit when we plant in good soil.
