AS we start 2025, I pray that you would shed off the “garment” that you wore last year.
For some, that garment came with victory and goodwill. However, the biggest enemy of your victory this coming year, is clinging to the victory of 2024.
Let go of the victories of last year because there are greater victories ahead. God is always wanting to do a new thing.
For some, that “garment ” came with a great wilderness experience, where you felt like you were walking through a dry desert. Let go of the wilderness and the desert! Be transformed by renewing your mind through God’s Word.
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” – Isaiah 43:18-19.
You can clean the old slate of your life and start afresh! Start a new and deeper relationship with God. Start a new relationship with your family. You have another chance to be a good father, a good mother. Face that addiction. You have another chance to overcome it this year!
The Holy Spirit is ready to walk this journey with you. Are you ready?
God spoke to the prophet Jeremiah saying, “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah’s response was, “Ah Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outreached arm. Nothing is too difficult for you.”
It is hard to believe that nothing is too difficult for God when we have not yet received the things that we believed for last year.
Start 2025 with confidence
If nothing is too hard for God then we must believe in His unchanging character and His faithfulness. He is a loving God who will not keep from us what is good for us. “If we who are wicked know how to give good things,” to our children, how much more will God give good things to His children? We must trust His timing and the goodness of God’s heart.
Start 2025 with confidence and hope. Your life will follow the direction of your thoughts. Think big. Think perfect health. Think peace and joy. Think victory through Christ Jesus!
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” – Matthew 7:11
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” – Jeremiah 32:27.
“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” – Numbers 23:19.
2025 is an opportunity to reflect on God’s work in your life, which emanates from the great and awesome love that He has for you!
This love caused Him to give His only Son to die on the cross for you. He did not withhold his only Son but gave Him up for us.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” –Lamentations 3:22-23.
His mercy ensures that we do not receive what we deserve as a result of our sins. God’s mercy never grows old but is new every morning.
As you reflect on His work in your life this year, meditate on the fact that Jesus said that not only would we do the things that He did, but that we would do greater works than Him.
Thank the Lord for the greater works that you will do through the power of the Holy Spirit in this 2025.
Wait on Him in prayer in 2025
God has carefully thought through, the works that He has planned for you to do. As you wait on him in prayer, the Holy Spirit will start to reveal to you what God has planned for you. Whatever is in God’s will for you will bring peace and joy, and will bless the Body of Christ.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11
Remember that you are clothed with His righteousness as you start 2025. Even when we are at our best, our righteous deeds can not make us acceptable before God. We could never be acceptable to God by our works.
We are only able to approach God because of the finished work of the cross of Calvary.
When Jesus said “It is finished!” as He hung on the cross, He took every accusation against us and nailed it to the cross! Every time that we turn to the cross in repentance, His blood washes us white as snow!
“Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” – Colossians 2:14-15.
What about when we fall into sin?
Knowing that after salvation, we will continue to sin, God has given us a remedy. These two verses aptly describe this remedy.
“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” – 1 John 1:8-9.
Whenever you fall into sin, repent immediately so that Satan does not take advantage of the open door to attack you.
The Bible describes Satan as a roaring lion who is looking for someone to devour. He is only able to devour those who open the door for him through sin.
Prayer Points
1). Ask the Lord to forgive you for the times when you have taken His mercy for granted.
2). Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what God wants you to do in 2025.
3). Thank the Lord for taking our sins and nailing them on the cross of Calvary!
4). Ask for forgiveness from God for the discouragement, doubt, and skepticism, that grew in your heart as a result of the things that you believed God for last year, and which you have not yet received.
5). Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see God as He truly is, “The God of all mankind.” His power cannot be compared to anything in the universe. He is the great and mighty God!
God who cannot lie is the One promising that He is making all things new in 2025. Ask God for faith to believe His Word.
