WE can never truly measure the Love of God. It is a love that exists beyond our human understanding, beyond limits, status, and conditions. In a world that often demands we "earn" our keep,
God offers Agape—the highest form of love: totally selfless and unconditionally given.
What is the "God-Kind" of Love?
Have you ever met someone who loves without strings attached? Someone who puts aside their own needs to fulfill yours, and even when you disappoint them, they continue to prioritize your well-being? When you find a character like that, you are catching a glimpse of the heart of the Father.
A Song of Praise
Our response to such love should be a "new song." As Psalms 96 commands, we are to proclaim His glory to the nations every day. We don't just worship because of what He does, but because of who He is: the source of all life, love and the river of goodness.
Confession: Have We Taken Love for Granted?
It is easy to let the "God kind of love" become an excuse for complacency. Have you found yourself saying:
-
"God will understand if I do this just one time..."
-
"I’m entitled to this blessing anyway..."
-
"I’ll repent later; He loves me anyway."
The Test of Trust
Sometimes our love for God is tested not by our sins, but by our circumstances. When life hits, or the pressure of Grade 10 school fees feels overwhelms, do we start agreeing with the negative talk around us?
We must repent for the moments we doubted His ability to rescue us. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:17-18, our stance should be: "Our God is able to deliver us... but even if He does not, we will not serve other gods."
God is not human; He does not lie. If He promised it, He will fulfill it (Numbers 23:19).
A Grateful Heart: Thanksgiving in 2026
Don’t get tired of thanking God for this new year. We often take for granted the very things others are praying for. Let us fill our lips with praises for:
-
The Essentials: Paid rent, food on the table, and health.
-
The Milestones: Children in school, new jobs, and wedding bells.
-
The Future: Thanking Him as we wait in faith, just as Abraham and Mary did.
"Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts." (Proverbs 4:23). When you think with gratitude, you align your life with God’s light.
Supplication: Aligning with Divine Purpose
Matthew 7:7-12 gives us a standing invitation: Ask, Seek, and Knock. Our Father is not a God who gives stones when we ask for bread.
As you present your list for 2026—financial breakthroughs, family restoration, or business success—remember Proverbs 16:3: "Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful."
The "Sons of Issachar" Discernment
In 2026, we pray for more than just "things." We pray for the discernment of the sons of Issachar—to understand the times and seasons so we don't miss the opportunities God provides.
-
Check Your Motive: Are you asking so people can "see" you, or is your intention pure?
-
The Blessing Principle: The blessing of the Lord adds no sorrow. If it's from Him, you won't have to struggle in a way that breaks your spirit.
A Closing Prayer for the Lost
Lord, we taste and see that You are good. We take refuge in You today. We pray for the lost souls and those who have backslidden. May Your Agape love draw them home. May Your blessings be with us, and may You give us success in all we do for Your glory. Amen.
