"BBI Ministry team led by Pastor Nellie joined the launch of Men Awake in Nairobi, a Christian men’s ministry focused on emotional healing, generational deliverance, and spiritual rebirth."

BBI Ministry team, led by Pastor Nellie, attended the launch of Men Awake, a new Christian men’s ministry in Kenya dedicated to creating a safe space for men’s emotional healing, spiritual deliverance, and rebirth.

The event was held at PBB Temple in Nairobi and featured a three-member panel discussion addressing men’s unspoken struggles, invisible barriers, and the journey toward spiritual restoration.

Confronting Invisible Barriers Blocking Men’s Destiny

During the panel discussion, Pastor Nellie challenged men to examine patterns within their family lineages.

“We need to look back into our family lineages, both sides of the family tree to see if there are patterns… What do you see?” she posed.

She explained that recurring issues such as alcoholism, addiction, or destructive behaviors affecting multiple family members may indicate generational bondage.

“If uncles, cousins, or siblings are affected by the same problem, we may be dealing with a curse.”

Pastor Nellie emphasized that many men battle invisible spiritual barriers that did not begin with them, yet significantly impact their ability to rise after failure and fulfill their God-ordained destiny.

Generational Curses and Idolatry

Quoting Exodus 20:3–5, Pastor Nellie explained that generational curses often stem from idolatry.

Many first-generation Christians, she noted, are unaware of spiritual covenants or practices within their ancestry that may have opened doors to bondage.

“Many of us are first-generation Christians and are totally unaware of what our forefathers did that God calls idolatry and the resultant punishment that transcends generations.”

She observed that while many churches emphasize discipline, they often fail to create spaces for men to address deeper spiritual roots such as generational curses and spiritual blindness.

A Safe Space for Emotional Healing

Men Awake founder Edwin Wachori Njau shared that the vision for the ministry was born during a personal marital crisis.

“I decided I was not going to blame myself or my wife but to start all over again.”

He said the ministry seeks to provide a Christ-centered environment where men can embrace vulnerability and prioritize emotional wellness without societal pressure.

The ministry’s biblically based programs include:

  • Rebirth of masculinity

  • Self-care and emotional healing

  • Community support activities

  • Workshops on spiritual growth

Edwin emphasized that Men Awake aims to equip men not only to recover from crisis but to prevent destructive patterns before they begin.

Breaking Spiritual Blindness

Panelist Pastor Boniface, an author and spiritual teacher, urged men to share testimonies of battles they have overcome.

He described “spiritual blindness” as one of the greatest obstacles men face.

“A man by nature is a leader. Blindness is the biggest disadvantage to have.”

He explained that ignorance and internal darkness prevent men from recognizing the breakthrough God has already made available.

“The darkness is not on the outside but on the inside of a man.”

Pastor Boniface encouraged men to conquer pride, face shame, admit weakness, and keep their eyes on the honor secured through Christ’s finished work on the cross.

Becoming God-Pleasers, Not Man-Pleasers

Pastor Nellie called on men to reclaim their God-given leadership roles in family, church, and community.

She urged them to choose obedience to God over societal expectations.

“Men must choose to be God-pleasers rather than men-pleasers.”

The discussion emphasized identity restoration, spiritual awakening, and confronting internal barriers that keep men from walking in authority.

Exalting Christ as the Foundation

Guest speaker Pastor Zino Ekelemu challenged attendees to examine where Christ is positioned in their hearts.

Quoting John 12:32:

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

He asked:

“Where have you placed Him?”

The event was also attended by Men Awake patron Lameck Ngunjiri.

A New Season for Men’s Ministry

The Men Awake launch marks a growing movement within Christian men’s ministry in Nairobi focused on:

  • Emotional healing for men

  • Breaking generational curses

  • Spiritual deliverance

  • Identity restoration

  • Biblical masculinity

As Pastor Nellie and the BBI Ministry team continue championing deliverance and spiritual freedom, the call remains clear: men must awaken, confront hidden barriers, and rise into their God-ordained destiny.
