A Journey of Spiritual Growth and Accountability
FROM March through September 2025, the BBI Men’s Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Roy Agoya, has walked alongside men pursuing spiritual growth, accountability, healing, and purpose.
While consistent attendance remains a challenge—with meetings averaging 16–20 men and occasionally dipping to 12–15—the ministry continues to serve as a vital platform where men confront life’s struggles and embrace God’s calling.
These fluctuations invite reflection:
Are they spiritual resistance attempting to disrupt fellowship?
Or the natural tendency of men to remain silent, even when help is needed?
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17
At BBI, fellowship is not optional—it is transformational.
Key Themes Explored in BBI Men’s Ministry
Over the past several months, powerful and transformative topics have strengthened men in every area of life:
1️⃣ Breaking Inner Vows
Many men carry silent agreements, self-imposed restrictions, or inner vows that limit spiritual progress.
Jesus teaches:
“Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’” – Matthew 5:34–37
Led by Pastor Roy Agoya, this session challenged men to:
-
Identify hidden vows
-
Renounce ungodly commitments
-
Release spiritual hindrances
-
Fully embrace God’s plan
Freedom begins with alignment.
2️⃣ Men in Leadership: Faithful in All Things
Leadership is not position—it is responsibility.
BBI Chairman Rev. Dan ole Shani facilitated this session, grounding it in:
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13–14
Men were reminded that:
-
Leadership starts at home
-
Integrity builds lasting impact
-
Courage must be rooted in love
-
Faithfulness sustains influence
True leadership is consistent character.
3️⃣ Learning from Saul: The Man Who Had It All
Brother Melvin Amulyoto led an interactive study from 1 Samuel 15.
Saul’s life serves as a warning:
“For rebellion is as the sin of divination…” – 1 Samuel 15:23
Despite early promise, Saul’s pride and partial obedience led to his downfall.
Men learned:
-
Obedience sustains favor
-
Humility preserves calling
-
Personal ambition must submit to God’s will
4️⃣ Sexual Purity in a Weaponized Culture
In today’s world, sexual temptation is aggressively normalized.
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification…” – 1 Thessalonians 4:3–4
Pastor Roy Agoya led a powerful session equipping men to:
-
Recognize manipulation and enticement
-
Practice self-control
-
Build accountability
-
Walk in honor
Fellowship, prayer, and transparency were emphasized as tools for victory.
5️⃣ Healing Father Wounds
Guest speaker Pastor David Odhuno, former BBI Men’s leader, addressed the deep impact of father wounds.
“He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children…” – Malachi 4:6
Many men carry emotional scars from:
-
Absent fathers
-
Broken homes
-
Difficult paternal relationships
Through prayer and guided reflection, men confronted generational pain and began restoration.
Healing fathers raise healed sons.
6️⃣ The Consistent Man
Pastor Charles Kiragu, Convener of ACTS Movement, emphasized spiritual consistency.
“Be steadfast, immovable…” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
Consistency:
-
Builds character
-
Establishes trust
-
Produces fruitfulness (Genesis 1:28)
-
Sustains leadership impact
Spiritual maturity is measured in faithfulness over time.
7️⃣ Lessons from Adullam: Raising Mighty Men
From 1 Samuel 22:1–2, Pastor Roy Agoya taught on the Cave of Adullam—where distressed, indebted, and discontented men became mighty warriors under David.
Adullam represents:
-
Broken beginnings
-
Community transformation
-
Leadership development
-
God’s redemptive process
BBI Men’s Ministry provides that same environment today—transforming broken men into vessels ready for the Master’s use.
The Challenge: Consistent Attendance
The ministry acknowledges attendance challenges but remains focused on transformation over numbers.
Pastor Roy Agoya reflects:
“True growth happens when men show up, open up, and allow God’s Word and fellowship to shape their lives. Men are being transformed—one man at a time.”
Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds us:
“Do not neglect meeting together… but encourage one another.”
Fellowship fuels endurance.
The Vision Moving Forward
The BBI Men’s Ministry remains committed to:
-
Spiritual accountability
-
Openness and vulnerability
-
Healing and restoration
-
Leadership development
-
Sexual purity
-
Consistency in faith
Men are being called to:
-
Rise in purpose
-
Walk in integrity
-
Heal from past wounds
-
Lead with courage
-
Embrace God’s plan
Like David’s mighty men, God is raising men of loyalty, strength, and conviction.
Final Word: A Call to Rise
Despite attendance fluctuations, BBI Men’s Ministry continues to stand as a beacon of spiritual growth and purpose building.
Men are being sharpened. Men are being healed. Men are being equipped.
The call remains clear:
Rise. Remain consistent. Lead with integrity.Walk in victory.
God is building men of purpose.
