DO you sometimes feel that the task ahead of you is beyond your ability? That’s actually a very good place to be!
Confidence in our own strength can be dangerous. Many have taken on tasks that were beyond human capacity and paid dearly for their presumption. Human strength has limits—it can carry a person only so far.
Someone once said:
“If the task before you is one you can do without God, then it is not from God.”
God intentionally gives us tasks that cannot be accomplished by human strength alone so that we learn to depend on Him. As Philippians 4:13 reminds us:
“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
Moses’ Impossible Task
God gave Moses a task that would have overwhelmed any human: building a Tabernacle in the wilderness exactly according to the heavenly pattern.
“Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain…” – Exodus 25:40-41
Imagine that! How could a mere human replicate something made by God in heaven? Was Moses expected to do it alone? Absolutely not.
God never calls us to carry His work alone. He calls willing hearts to co-labour with Him.
Bezalel: God Chooses the Willing
To accomplish the work, God chose a man named Bezalel. Not for his intelligence, skill, or cleverness—but for his willingness to serve:
“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.” – Exodus 31:2
When Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab, it was not just skill that qualified them. It was God’s empowerment combined with their willingness:
“…to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work.” – Exodus 36:2
God gave them skill, ability, and knowledge through His Spirit:
“I have filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God and have given him the skill, ability, and knowledge to do all kinds of work.”
God Gives the Strength, Skill, and Knowledge
The same principle applies to you today. Whatever task God has called you to do:
-
He will equip you with the necessary skill
-
He will empower you through His Spirit
-
He will guide you through wisdom and understanding
Exodus 35:35 tells us:
“He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.”
God does not expect you to rely on your own understanding or ability. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light, because He is the One who equips you. Call upon Him today!
Step Out in Faith
God often gives tasks that seem impossible by human standards—and that’s exactly His intention. He wants us to depend on Him, not on our own understanding or ability.
Like Moses and Bezalel, your willing heart is what matters. God provides the skill, the knowledge, and the power to complete His work.
Today, don’t focus on your limitations. Focus on His unlimited strength. Step out in faith, rely on His Spirit, and watch Him accomplish the impossible through you.
“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13
