"Many misunderstand humility as self-belittling. Scripture reveals your true worth, identity, and value as one created in God’s image."

MANY believers misunderstand humility. We often assume that being humble means belittling ourselves, speaking poorly about our worth, or seeing ourselves as insignificant. However, the Bible presents a very different picture of humility—one that is rooted in truth, identity, and honor before God.

I once heard someone pray:

“Lord, have mercy on us. We are just worms in Your sight.”

This raises an important question:
Would God send His only beloved Son to die a cruel death on the cross for worms?
Of course not.

Tragically, some people have even taken their own lives because they felt worthless and unloved, believing their lives had no value. Scripture tells us the opposite. You are far more valuable than you realize.

God Created You in His Image

The Bible clearly reveals humanity’s worth:

“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…’”
(Genesis 1:26)

God created human beings in His image and likeness, granting them authority, responsibility, and a unique place in creation. Humanity was designed not only to rule but to walk in fellowship with God.

“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day.”
(Genesis 3:8)

Imagine the Creator of the universe seeking fellowship with human beings. That alone reveals how deeply God values relationship with us.

God’s Plan to Restore Fellowship With Humanity

When sin entered the world, God did not abandon humanity. Instead, He immediately set in motion a redemptive plan.

God placed the weight of humanity’s sin upon His Son, Jesus Christ, so that fellowship could be restored. Through the cross, forgiveness was made available, and humanity was reconciled back to God.

This sacrifice is the ultimate proof of your value. You were worth redeeming.

You Are the Apple of God’s Eye

King David, a man after God’s own heart, prayed:

“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.”
(Psalm 17:8)

Every believer in Jesus Christ is precious in God’s sight. He watches over us, protects us, and draws us close—not because we are insignificant, but because we are deeply loved.

You Are Not Worthless—You Are Loved

If you have ever felt forgotten, insignificant, or cast aside, Scripture speaks directly to you.

“He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”
(Romans 8:32)
