WHY does Satan attack our children so mercilessly seeking to destroy them as early as possible with all manner of attacks right from the womb?
By seeking to destroy the “protective walls” around our children as early as possible Satan attempts to thwart God’s primary strategy of exerting His will on earth through godly offspring.
Genesis 1:28, “God blessed them and said to them, be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it, rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
This is God’s will for man.
To interfere with this divine plan, Satan has come up with many schemes mainly by targeting children. His strategy is to block children while they as young as possible.

Stop children from being godly
The enemy has substantially made it his primary strategy to stop our children from being godly.
He steers them towards rebellion, depression, alcoholism and drugs, sexual immorality, crime and suicide. However, God still expects that His light shines in our children’s lives.
To understand Satan’s strategy, we must understand the origins of a generational problem that occurred in Genesis 3:6.“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.
She also gave some to her husband who was with her and he ate it.”
Adam and Eve exterminated their image by trading with Satan and ended up being kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

In their sinful state, they brought forth children- in their own likeness, who were as rebellious as they were, the first born turning out to be murderer.
Books of destiny
It is not Satan who makes our children sinners, disobedient or rebellious, but they were born this way.
God however, expects all parents and their children to be blameless and pure in a crooked generation according to Philippians 2:15.” So that you may become blameless and pure children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”
Left unto themselves, offspring cannot be “blameless” and “pure” and that is where God has provided a safety valve- leading them to Christ.
Leading our children to Christ is the ultimate parental responsibility.

Working in our children
They have to be changed from inside -out. Salvation makes this possible by giving the Holy Spirit a chance to start working in our children from inside out.
When parents take up the role of leading their children to Christ, it would bring forth a totally new creation-and God’s governance would the established through this godly offspring.
God has appointed every child to be someone important in their lifetime, Jeremiah 1:5. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
It is God’s will that everything is fulfilled to the letter of which was written in the every ‘’child’s books of destiny.”
Our children, unfortunately have an adversary to oppose them.
Legal rights that allow Satan to attack children
Satan being fully aware that God’s primary strategy on earth is to be achieved through godly children unleashes demonic attacks to thwart His sacred plan.
The enemy, thus has substantially made it his primary strategy to stop our children from being godly. His options are, however, limited and he must operate within the boundaries of “legal rights.”
A legal right is the spiritual permission that allows Satan to send in demons to torment people. Unless Satan is given a legal right, he cannot do anything to harm our children.

A legal right is like a doorway that he must use to enter the life of an individual. He keeps on looking for it- this small opening, to squeeze through!
He constantly looks for the open doorway that is giving him a legal right, according to Proverbs 26:2 “a curse without a cause cannot land.”
It means if an attack happens, there was a legal right or ground, a doorway that was open and the enemy used it to enter.
Doorways Satan uses to enter
Some of the common doorways Satan may use to enter and mess up a child include;
- Pre-natal influence
Demonic attacks can be launched right from the womb. A baby being a spirit can hear, right from the womb, and listens keenly to what is said through the mother’s ears.
It may hear that they are “unwanted,” “worthless,” “despised” or “rejected,” causing it to be insecure, even afraid of being terminated.
Pregnant women who may want to close this door against Satan are advised to speak to the unborn child I constructive terms telling them, that “God loves you,” and “you are wanted,” as “you have a purpose, you are valued!”
You may ask God about what is written in their book of destiny in accordance to Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you , before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Speak positively to the unborn child.
An environment of strife in the home where there are constant fights, bickering, anger outbursts and frequent argument opens the doorway(s) for Satan to send in demons to attack an unborn child and they may end up being born with insecurities.
- Birthing trauma
Children born prematurely, or through C-Section or even after prolonged labour have “open doorways.” They have a spirit of rejection already operating in their lives.
This is also true of babies born out of wedlock and under circumstances that deny them adequate bonding with the mother.
- Childhood trauma
Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing event and can be as a result of physical injury, abandonment or witnessing an event followed by emotional shock.
It comes with symptoms of stress, depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive behaviour.
Rejection, abandonment and chronic sickness may cause babies to be fearful or anxious. This ,too, can open them up to severe spiritual attacks.
- Inherited curses
A curse is a spoken word that is capable of bringing a supernatural effect upon a person’s life. Something could have been spoken that is affecting the child or it may have been borne out of parents who worshipped another god.
Click on this link Generation to generation: Don’t pass it on to read a related post on how inherited curses affect children.
Exodus 20: 3-5 warns us, ” You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.”
Lamentations 5:7 says, ” Our fathers sinned and are no more and we bear their punishment.”
The child could be bearing the punishment for someone else who sinned along the bloodline.
Negative words spoken in anger are curses. However, the person must have some authority over the child for example, the parent, teacher, doctor or pastor for the curse to affect the child’s life.
Parents must learn to speak differently to their children, to “bless and not to curse.”
- Lack of discipline
Many parents inadvertently open doorways for Satan when they fail to discipline their children for fear of losing their affection. Proverbs 13:24 tells us, He who spares the rod hates his son but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
Proverbs 22:6. Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:15. “Folly is bound up in the heart of a child but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.
Discipline, according to counsellors is not a child’s problem, it is a parent’s problem. Some parents lack consistency in applying discipline or are too tired to instill discipline.
Always remember, we do not punish for mistakes, we punish for disobedience.
- Child molestation
Molestation opens an express doorway for demonic attacks in a child’s life. Unfortunately, molesters are most of the time relatives or care-givers and friends of the child’s parents.
Children are easily molested since they trust adults and are afraid to report “because parents won’t believe me.
A child who is molested has the spirt of child molestation itself apart rom other evil spirts and is likely to molest someone else.
We must protect our children at all costs.
