GOD’s will is that you should be rich, however wrong beliefs about wealth can easily become stumbling blocks on your road to prosperity.
God in His great wisdom has given man the ability to create wealth and has made provisions for his prosperity here on earth.
His promises of prosperity were not only given to Abraham, they are also for you because you belong to Christ and you are Abraham’s seed thus the promises of prosperity to Abraham, through Jesus Christ, are yours as well.
Galatians 3:16. “The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say ‘unto seeds’ meaning many people, but to your seed meaning one person, who is Christ.”
He promised Abraham that he would make him prosperous and indeed as he prospered, his cousin Lot, also became wealthy.
Lot benefited from the anointing of wealth that was on his uncle. When you are prosperous all people associated with you become wealthy.

Anointing of wealth
One of the reasons Jesus was crucified was to make us rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9. “ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”
If a child does not know they are a heir to the inheritance, read prosperity, they continue to live in poverty.
God swore a covenant of prosperity with our forefathers, so when we live in poverty, the covenant God made with Abraham is not being fulfilled in us.

Three wrong beliefs about wealth
These 3 beliefs that are wrong about wealth and can easily corrupt your attitude and hold you back from prospering.
- God can make me poor to teach me something
This is a misplaced belief and can keep you bound in poverty unnecessarily. What parent can allow his or her child to be poor to teach them something?
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him. Mathew 7:11.
What a wicked father can God be to want to teach us through suffering, as in, have me suffer to teach me something!
Our Father is a generous father and wants the best in life for us. He is the owner of all silver and gold and will never withhold a good thing from His children keep their trust in Him.
- When am rich it gives the wrong impression
Another false belief about wealth that can keep one enslaved by the spirit of poverty is that, “people will think that I have stolen…”
Remember God will not give you what you do not value! If you don’t value prosperity God will not give it to you. A person can be extremely rich, be blameless and still fear God like Job.
Job1:1. In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
The Bible goes on to say, Job “was the greatest man among all the people of the East.” No one, at that time, equaled him in wealth.
It therefore means, God can bless the works of our hands to the extent we are extremely rich and still honour Him.
Abraham too was wealthy, feared God and shunned evil.

- Jesus was poor as an example
Wrong! Jesus became poor so we may become rich!
Jesus has called us by His own glory and goodness. When he said: It is finished, He already made us rich.
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9.
If we are not going to leave this earth with all the wealth, so why does God give me the wealth and want me to be rich?
The reason why God gives us wealth and makes us rich is so that we may build His church. Exodus 12:35. “ The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing.”

This is the reason why God was giving the Israelites silver and gold, and expensive clothing during the 40 years they were going to be in the wilderness.
Exodus 25:8.“Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.”
God was giving the Israelites wealth to build His church and He took care of their personal needs, their shoes did not wear out, but the wealth was for building the church.
Exodus 29:5, “Yet the LORD says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.”
When the time came for building the tabernacle where people would gather to worship God, they gave willingly out of abundance.
“And everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.” Exodus 35:21.
Willingness of my heart
For what you have, give. God gave the Israelites to give back. He gives you wealth to give back and be a blessing to the body of Christ, His church.
The Father sees the willingness of your heart. “If you are willing give an offering,” God says. He is asking you to give so that He may bless you.
A farmer who knows he is going to get a harvest goes to the farm and sows with joy and does not plant while grumbling.
When the tabernacle of worship was being built a problem arose- a good problem though as the people were giving “more than enough.”
Exodus 36:5. “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.”
They were willing to give until they are told it is enough, what an example!
Wealth came from God
The Israelites gave like this because they understood their wealth came from God, it did not belong to them. That is the mind set we all need to have if we are going to live prosperously and be a blessing to the church of God.
Unfortunately, most of the time we think we are doing God a favour when we give.
“Its my money,” we say, not realising that if He took away the breadth, we will not be in a position to make wealth.
The Israelites were not in need because they were generous with God, their “clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on their feet!”
God wants us to live a supernatural life and has made provision for each one of us for our prosperity here on earth.
