Fresh perspective on generational barriers

Listeners were treated to a thought-provoking conversation which opened up to a fresh perspective and spiritual lenses through which to view life’s complexities presenting themselves as generational barriers.

Pastor Nellie explained that to overcome generational barriers one has to come to a point of acknowledging that it exists.

“You recognise the presence of a curse when you see a pattern in your life and in the lives of those close to you, relatives you are connected with through a bloodline,” she said.

She said to overcome generational barrier it is important that one is born -again and have a relationship with Jesus Christ, before attempting to break a curse.

“If you do not have a relationship with Christ where do you put the curse?” she posed.

Pastor Nellie said after recognising a pattern of a curse, repentance is “key.”

“We have to bring repentance for the sin(s) that caused the curse to be released upon us,” she said.

She explained that repenting involves standing in the gap for the ancestors and acknowledging their guilt as if one was there and participated in their idolatry.

“You are confessing where they went to see witchdoctors, sorcerers… where they did abortions, where they stole, as well as the idolatry in our own lives as the Holy spirit reveals to you,” she said.

It is an attitude of your heart, pastor Nellie said.

The Lord send curses

Pastor Nellie said we do not talk about  Satan in dealing with generational barriers.

“God is the one who sends curses because of idolatry according to Deuteronomy  28:20.

The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him.

She explained that demons only come to take advantage of an existing curse.

Pastor Nellie likened demons to flies that swam a wound or something rotten!

Pastor Nellie said believers have to go back to the fact that they have authority in Christ to deal with generational barriers.

The CEO said it is important to consider what legacy one is leaving behind-blessings or curses.

Prayer for families

The morning show ended with prayer  for families that they may know there is an answer to generational controversies.

That Jesus came to set the captives free.

Pastor Nellie repented for the sins that released the curses over the families, and pleaded that the  blood of Jesus wash them away.
